How to optimise your B2B lead generation campaigns

Our latest post explores the importance of optimising lead generation campaigns to increase lead flow.

To highlight the importance of optimizing your marketing campaigns I want to share a quick case study with you.

A consulting firm recently hired RooCru to run their prospecting campaigns and as they had only relied on referrals, this meant we were starting from a blank canvas.

Instead of going with a one size fits all approach, we tracked every variable so we could optimise the performance over several months. (like we do with every campaign)

In month one they generated 7 leads which was OK, but more importantly we had data to use for our future campaigns. We knew which industries, job titles, locations, subject lines and messages were performing the best.

We also knew what their average lead rates were and we could use this information to predict the results in month two.

To cut a long story short, in month two they generated 22 leads and closed one new sale. This was a 200% lead increase from the previous month.

In month three they generated 27 leads and closed further sales.

Without measuring every variable it would have been impossible to know which lever to pull to increase the results.

We have a standard procedure here at RooCru and after running thousands of campaigns it's a system that we have optimised over time too.

The image above is a template that any business can use to track and improve the performance of your campaigns.

Here’s a couple of suggestions that will also help.

- Start by targeting one industry at a time (look at your current and previous clients, is there an industry trend you can identify)?

- Use different subject lines as a way to track your leads

- Use different email accounts to track the response from different job titles.

- Figure out your lead rates and use this information to scale the campaign.
